ASFI has both a functional and a territorial dimension. At the headquarters level ASFI is primarily concerned with policy and coordination, advocacy and promotion, fund raising and external linkages. In order to reach all corners of the country and to deliver various services, chapters are being established at different locations; elsewhere partners and like minded institutions are being approached for cooperation and implementation of objectives. ASFI has a three tier arrangement :
- ASFI Headquarters at Calcutta;
- Chapters as quasi autonomous units working in tandem; and
- Collaborators as independent entities working on specific understanding (MOU).
ASFI Headquarters :

Chairman - Dr. Hari Prasad Kanoria : Dr Hari Prasad Kanoria, LLB; D Litt is an industrialist, banker, journalist, educationist, philanthropist and social worker.
Dr Kanoria is also the Chairman of the Kanoria Foundation which is a trust entity founded by the Kanoria family, headquartered in Kolkata, India and has been in business for more than a century. It is dedicated to contributing to societal development by creating business enterprises which have long-term and sustainable objectives. It believes in the ethos “Work with Devotion with Righteousness” through the constant churning of ideas, implementing it with passion and focussing on the results.
His businesses include infrastructure financial services, infrastructure development (roads, ports, power, industrial parks and SEZ-s, water, rural IT infrastructure, mass housing, townships, hospitality and healthcare). Its operational philosophy is based on strong foundation of morals, values and culture. Concurrent with business activities are several social initiatives and CSR activities.
Mr Sitaram Sharma :
Honorary Consul for Belarus; Vice President, Indian Federation of United Nations Association, former Secretary General, West Bengal Federation of United Nations Associations (WEBFUNA); an active Rotarian and successful businessman; Chairman, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS), Kolkata, an autonomous body under Union Ministry of Culture
Mr Parashar Lohia : Mr Lohia is a senior Chartered Accountant having his own firm. He is an Advisor to several companies and has played an important role in social service particularly in supporting the cause for violence against women. Under his valuable guidance we have been able to extend our activities to South India
Vice - Chairman - Mr. Rahul Varma : Mr. Rahul Varma has a rich and varied experience of working in the corporate and non-profit social service sectors. Currently, he is the President of Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. He has over 31 years experience in diversified fields. He is on the Board of several companies and an active member of various Chambers of Commerce and their Committees; currently the Director of the World Confluence of Humanity, Power & Spirituality held annually under the aegis of SREI Foundation with which he is actively associated and continues to serve humanity.
In due course and progressively, ASFI has been opening chapters and creating linkages with similar ‘all India’ organizations to ensure that its purpose remains valid and relevant; it will evolve a long term strategy and raise funds to implement the same. It will monitor the progress, evaluate results and moderate the course of action as necessary.
